Support Each Other

I must applaud this site, which seems to be a help for so many people. It has been a real eye opener for me. I would love to get to know a few people who have come out on the other site, and make lasting friendships all be it online.

I am only on day 12 from 18 years of drinking, and would like to have as much support as needed, I am lucky I still have everything to live for, but was close to total meltdown.

I regularly use facebook, although some would say it's not brilliant, but my phone isnt good enough to use these forums at home so I only get the chane now and again to use it at work, which isn't ideal, if i just wanted a quick chin wag.

Please Pm me is you are in a similar boat and hopefully as a team it will be easier to help each other.

My life has changed, and I aint going back!

as well as useing SR.

They are both vital to me....

I am more than keeping this up, I've done a complete life U turn. I have been working for a week now on getting something similar to this site set up in our local area, and using it to provide positive feedback too. This site is amazing, I can't thank it enough and the forums are something I moderate in the the UK for my sporting interest, based on the similar programming. With this many users it could provide vital statistical research, which I am hopingI can for our local area!

There are support groups yes, but from what I have heard its difficuly for many to make the travel or to find the time, when this is just as good. I will need to look at dozens of groups and sites and research, and cherry pick the best ideas, and bring them all together. This is my project, this is my distraction, and I will help others in my area, the way I have been positively helped!

15 days now, getting stronger, and more determined, I also have no need, want, and wish to have a drink, nor have not had any withdrawals (guess I am lucky), since my in-patient detox. Reality is I don't know what withdrawal signs are, as I have had a drink every night of my adult life. Just nevery touched it daytime, and at 33 it took its took and made my insides feel unwell, thus have stopped via medical intervention!

hi professor, how are you doing? i have only just joined this forum after reading your inspirational post. It is really hard for me to take my mind of things and have also wondered if starting a local AA meeting in my area would help me. Just weondering how you are getting on in your recovery... I have set backs but am hopeful....

Greetings professor. Congratulations on 15 days. Big achievement.

This site does indeed help many. I've done some of the same research you have and didn't find many like it. There's a few out there, but none seem to be as well attended and as broad a spectrum.

Hope you find what you need here and if I can be of any help, you have but to ask
