A New Light

I am blessed to have not only been through heck but thankful for it. I could never have started my path to a more whole, healthy, sober me without a lot of different factors, but most importantly God. He has been sending me messages and stayed by me all this time, all this time I've been fighting so hard, but I kept sending him to voicemail and not checking my messages. But I finally allowed Him to get through to me. I hit lower than rock bottom and I had to in order to see. I had to be broken down to the rawest, most honest, most vulnerable I have ever allowed or even imagined I could be in order to begin this journey. I have sought ought every tool I can imagine in order to get the help I need for myself and in turn for those around me. I am making progress, slower some days than others but progress nonetheless, towards seeing through clearer eyes, sober eyes. There is a new light in my life that I will continue to feed in a healthy way, I will nourish it with the living water and the light and I will keep it with me always. The wind may blow and the clouds may roll it and it may be harder to see but it will always be there if I take a moment to look...

I love when a plan comes together. Life is a predetermined path that we choose not to follow...once we get on track it works! Good for you!!

I feel the same way as you....many different factors but God is definately the main one. When I realized that I was NOT God, he was able to speak to my heart and show me how I was hurting my life and rejecting Him by using drugs and alcohol.

Good luck buddy
