good visit

Went to visit AS last nite in jail. In only 3 short weeks he looks great!
He had colour in his face, looks as if he has put some weight on. Looks like he will be there 9 months until he can get in to a rehab program. For the first time in 6 years he seemed focused, not his angry self. Nothing like good old jail detoxifying. We had a nice short visit. He didnt whine, blame or ask me for money. I just enjoyed the moment with him. Most people would think Im nuts saying this he is in jail lol.

I'm so glad to hear you had a good visit. Yeah, many people wouldn't understand that we can be glad our kids are in jail, but we certainly understand. While it's not what we would hope for them, it sometimes takes something like jail to make them open their eyes.

(((Katie))) - I'm really glad you had a good visit, that he looks good, and he'll be in there for a while. I know the "earthlings" wouldn't understand that, but we do

Hugs and prayers,

Amy

oh katie,

i am one of those mothers who says "nine more months, and then rehab? *****!"
both of my addicted children went to jail and/or prison, it was the only thing, the only break that got them thinking right again.

Katie it is great you got to enjoy that moment.
When I was able to let go (even for a moment ) my children and I have a good time together.
Working those moments. I live for them.
I hope this is exactly what your son needs and he accepts and makes recovery his life.

Nice to hear Katie, I know the lasttime you had a visit with him you were upset when you left. I sure doesn't take to long for them to start looking good again once they have been away from the crap and they have to feel so much better.

There are just somethings we should not say infront of the earthlings!

I too "get" how a mama can be thrilled when her boy looks better in jail than they have looked in months/years.

I'm doing the happy dance with you, Katie. God's gifts are often strangely wrapped...and sometimes include bars.

Hugs
