TOPIC: Impossible = I'm Possible
Hi. Im Sharon and I'm an Alcoholic
living a sober life here in Baton Rouge, La.
following the steps and principles set down
before us many years ago.
During my drinking career many yrs. ago,
I thought it was completely impossible to
never drink again. I tried countless times
to stop for one reason or another to only
be tempted to drink again.
When that force was too strong to stop and
my life became unmanageable my family stepped
in with an intervention getting me help I so
desperately needed at that time of my life.
I completed a 28 day inpatiant rehab program
tacked on with a 6 week outpatiant aftercare
program and was set on the path of recovery
learning to stay sober with the tools and knowledge
of my alcoholism handed to me.
Impossible to stay sober became I'm possible to
stay sober. That I can and I will stay sober one
day at a time with my program of recovery.
It was 20 yrs ago that I took that first step and
continue walking that path of recovery today living
happy joyous and free being me and sober.

HI Sharon. I lurked on this board for years, joined last year, and finally came to my senses and sobriety about a month ago, and am now enjoying my new life. Although AA is not for me I have enjoyed reading your posts and often find them inspirational. I'm a proud, anti-imperialist Canuck, but my wife and I are going to New Orleans (for me, the cultural heart of America) next week for a few days of great food and music. All the best!
Hi JoeStrummer....one month of sobriety is
a good start to what lyes ahead of you. If u
are enjoying life now then just imagine the
joys of life you have to look forward to.
Live life with honesty and trust. Be kind to others,
keep ur side of the street clean and share ur own
experiences of what life was before during and after
alcohol to others that still suffer. Then those promises
stated in the AA book will come true,,,,,some slowly
some quickly but they will come true.
That is the journey of recovery.
Enjoy ur visit to New Orleans and arm urself
with the cloak of recovery to protect you from
the temptations of what lurks out there, esp.
alcohol.
See New Orleans and the world with clearer
vision and apreciate it to the upmost.
What and AWESOME GIFT..!
