Newcomers information
Two days ago I found some articles about addiction and I found a letter written by someone on behalf of a parent who wanted to let their addict child know that they were letting go and the addict child was free to make their own decisions...I would like to find that letter again, I found it helpful and I would like to reread it. Please help direct me to it, if you know where to find it.
(((Emese))) - I'm not sure if it was one of the "stickies" (the posts at the top of the forum) but there's some really good info up there.
I'm not only a recovering codie, but an RA (recovering addict) so if you want to ask questions, just let me know.
Hugs and prayers,
Amy

Thank you, Impurrfect....I could kick myself for not marking the page or something...it was a letter by the poster, she was helping a mom write a letter, saying she reworded the mother,s letter removing expressions of blame, etc. and just letting the addict know that
she was setting him/her free and letting go so the addict could make their own decisions. I would like it for a guideline to write to my son. Through a lot of the postings here, it is dawning on me what enabling is. Although what is not clear at all is what helping and support is without enabling.
