day 1 AGAIN

I just found this site today. I wasn't looking for it. I am not sure how I came across it, But I am very glad that I did. I am an alcoholic and have been since I was 15. I have attempted to quit drinking many times. Since about 1994. I have had a couple of good runs,but that little dark angel on my shoulder would say, " you can have just a couple you are over the hump." NOT. With each lapse.... the consumption has gotten worse and worse.
I prayed this morning on the way into work. 1. To thank God for getting me here safe. and 2.To help me beat this once and for all. My children deserve more. My wife deserves more. Most of all I want that guy back who use to love life. I want me back. I dont want to be that guy anymore.
I am ready.
Anyway I am happy to be here and nice to meet you all.

What? Am I posting under two accounts?!? :-). Well I don't have kids and it was '95 I first tried to quit but the rest is pretty much identical (I also go by my middle name now but was a Dave back when). Welcome!

I used to miss the old me (real me) so much, and so did my family.
Now im often reminded with how we all smile in a different way...

...we're a 'unit' again!

Dave, I've had so many day 1's I was starting to forget how to count to 2. Since I found this site, and with the support of the people here, I am on Day 13. I know not much to brag about but to me it is huge. Read here a lot, you will get inspiration.
