Hi everyone,

Ive been reading SR for about 2 weeks straight now. Wherever I go I'm reading your stories and questions. It feels so amazing to know that after 21 years Im really not alone

I am a daughter of an alcoholic mother, and thought I was alone and helpless to the disease. I'm not sure where to start on making myself break the cycle and not continuing what is joked about (by the alcoholics, not the rest of us) as "the family genes''

Just wanted to let you all know how thankful I am for finding this site, and for the fact that everyone has shared their stories in order to help others like myself
