Tested tonight and passed!
Hi,
I am on day 4 and feeling good so far. I saw a counselor today and will continue every week to help me through the recovery process. I was tested tonight with a neighborhood party with the girls. There was a lot of wine and partying going on and I didn't slip at all. I drank my water and kept telling myself it will be o.k. Not to say that I wouldn't havethanks loved to pick up a glass of wine and party with the rest of them but I knew that I wanted to get through the night and be proud of myself. I did it!!! I came home and here I am with my new friends. It feels good. Thank you for being there.

wow - congrats dancer! that's a tough one for early sobriety...... just be sure to cancel something like that if you feel at all shaky.
You're going to feel so good when you wake up tomorrow! Way to go!

I'm glad you got through it, dancer1, but thats more than I would have attempted on day 4...I agree...no shame in playing it safe.
I actually played it safe and avoided all those kinds of things for a few months - I consider it a pretty small investment against the rest of my life, and in hindsight for me, it was a move that's definitely paid off

I'm glad you didn't give in to the moment. Since I was a solitary drinker, social situations didn't pose any threat to me, but I had to get used to being alone with myself not drinking.
Good for you, but in the future, if you have any reservations, just don't go.

That's impressive. I'm on day 35 and I won't go to any event involving alcohol yet. Someday, I'll be ready but that day isn't coming soon. I wouldn't take the risk. It's great you made it through but I would risk it again for awhile. It may get tougher to say no.
