Hi to you all!
Hello SR! I've never posted anything online before, but feel bad I have been shamelessly skulking round the site reading posts for weeks without showing my 'face'. I recognise myself in so many of the stories bravely shared here. So today I am 3 days sober - big deal huh?
. Well, its the longest I've gone without a drink continuously for around 10 years. Oh man, that's hard to see written down.
I decided to post tonight because something happened this morning. I was feeling pretty good waking up for the third morning alert & sober, but there was another feeling. I had to run through a mental list of possible emotions until I realised what I felt was HOPE, optimism, WOW! Its so long since I felt hopeful about my future & that of my family. I'm so grateful to my HP & to you all for my new start. Just for today its good.
I've read so much love & support on these pages, I really hope some of it will come my way. I am an hour from the nearest meeting, have 3 children & a husband who works long hours (guess how I facilitated my drinking so long), so you guys are going to be my biggest support. I have the BB & fully commit to working the steps, I definitely feel its the way forward for me. Well, I've gone on long enough. Peace to you all.

Congratulations on 3 days!!!
I celebrated Day 1 and Day 2 and Day 3...today is Day 15 for me and I'm still celebrating. Those first few days are tough. You should be very proud of yourself. Give yourself a big pat on the back and keep pushing on.

That's awesome that you've got your BB! I just got mine today and I'm excited about reading it! I'm on day 5! We can do this with the help of our HP! Member

Congratulations and remember the most important fact: "One day at a time"! Take up a hobby, join a gym, volunteer, keep your mind busy with positive thoughts. Welcome aboard, we are all here pulling for you.
