Fell Down the stairs the morning

Hi All, well one would think I would have fallen down my stairs while drunk! but it never happened, however this morning (I am on around 55 days sober) I was a little sleepy - missed the first step and down I went till I hit the wall. I have one huge bruise starting to appear in the buttocks region. I have felt a little clumsy since giving up and wonder if this is just one of those things or connected. Anyway kind of wanted to sympathy and cant really show anyone the bruise that is appearing! Take care all, I am going to hobble into work.

So sorry you fell down the stairs Ring. I'm glad you didn't hurt yourself
seriously. I'm really clumsy too, even on my best of days and yes, if
it makes you feel better I do think lack of balance issues are a part
of early recovery. We'll just not be calling ourselves Grace anytime soon!
Hope your day at work is a good one.

Hi Ring,

That sounds like it must have hurt!

Have you talked to your dr since you stopped drinking? Hopefully this was just an accident, but it never hurts to get things checked out.

Might be PAWS. I'm over a year sober and I still suffer from PAWS.

Google it and check it out.

Hi Ring.

Hmmm... i have felt clumsy and not as balanced as id like to be. I have thought about discussing it with my Doc, but never really get round to it, maybe i will.
I was smashed for a long time and thats what iv put it down to too. Maybe its a good idea to really find out the truth of it.

Thanks :-)

I agree with Anna - never hurts to get things like sudden clumsiness checked out - or a bad bruise

Hope you heal quickly

Jeeeze...sorry about that!
We were learning in rehab how much alcohol really does affect parts of the brain and this might just be so in your case -who knows. My furniture hasn't been moved for 6 months and I'm only 25 days sober and have walked into it. Then I feel like the big duh sign is flashing in neon over my head!
