Night sweats

Hello,
I've been drinking for about 8 years or so. every year its gotten worse. Lately i've gotten to binge drinking from thurs to Saturday and somtimes Sundays. I've decided that I needed to quit. Its depressing me and constantly causing me and my family to worry.
The last couple nights i've woken up drenched in sweat. Is this something that may be due to alcohol? I've experienced this a few times over the last couple months. Not often. But since I worry 24 hours a day and 7 days a week i'm constantly thinking about it.... Any one can help?

Hi Jep.
Night sweats are very common in withdrawal.

I think the best thing is to let them run their course - I've had them up to a week or more after stopping.

Yes, very common, and if you are concerned please talk to your dr.

jep, night sweats is a common alcohol withdrawal symptom.

Do not mess around with alcohol withdrawal. It can be life threatening....... trust me, I know first hand.

Talk to your Dr. or check yourself into the ER. Don't fu*k around with withdrawal symptoms from alcohol.

Common. I kept 5 t-shirts by my bed and changed them about every hour or 2 while detoxing at night. Lasted for about the first 5 days or so then went away...

Don't be afraid to talk with your doctor for help with the withdrawl...

My night sweats only lasted a night or two, and I got up, took a shower and changed the sheets during the night. The sheets and I were soaked. I think everyone is different in how they go through detox/withdrawal.

I hope you get through it quickly.

That crap bugged me big time....I am having hormone treatment so I didnt know WHERE to look on WHY I sweated so much every night. The doc adjusted the hormones, still no luck. Then I read that alcohol kills B-12.....so I stated taking B 12. THE VERY FIRST NIGHT....it cut about 1/2. ANd everynight after that a little less and a little less...till, now, for 3 nights I've not sweated.

So, try B12. It may have been a coincedence, but it may be worth a try!
