Happy Super Bowl Sunday everyone. Unfortunately the Ravens did not make it but still looking forward to the big game. With God’s help, today will be the first big game I have been sober to watch maybe forever. I am usually passed out by kickoff and wake up hours later.

Today we will start off at church then hit the gym and then come home do some cooking and enjoy the big the game. I hope you all enjoy your day.

This Super Bowl is also gonna be a first time sober for me as well.
Probably in like 10 yrs.
Not a heavy drinker that whole time but Super Bowl has always been a day of drinking.

Add me to the list.... this is my first Super Bowl without drinking. I remember last year when my beloved Colts were in the big game I was consumed all day long with "when should I start drinking"... I couldn't start too early because I didn't want to be too drunk too soon, but then I didn't want to start too late because my life didn't really start becoming enjoyable until I drank.... What misery that is isn't it.

Today it's church, then work, then get some good food on the way home, then watch the game. I wish everyone the best.

My prediction Steelers: 27 Packers: 24...

I record it, watch it later so I can fast forward thru all the football, and just watch the commercials.

I'm not going to watch much of the Super Bowl today. I agreed to open up the church and chair the Sunday night AA meeting I go to at 7:00. So I will miss the game from 6:30 - 8:30. A year ago if you had told me I'd be chairing an AA meeting and missing the Super Bowl I would have thought you were nuts.

I hope somebody else shows up for the meeting besides me.

the commercials are my favorite part too! and a chance to eat a few cheesey treats and WINGS!!!

for the first time during a "holiday" i am not even thinking about booze...that is a big accomplishment for me....i've been so good on my diet i am looking forward to the chance to indulge in a few treats....and that's a good thing, to be wishing for buffalo wings instead of booze!

I'm going to my home group meeting tonight at 7, too. So while I might not be at YOUR meeting, my bet is that there will be a few folks. I'm just thankful I should be safe at home before the drunks hit the road.

I'm with smacked--the only thing worth watching, IMO, are the commercials (NOT a football fan--my last ex wasn't an alcoholic but he was addicted to football). I'll watch them on YouTube later.

I'm ready for a good game! It's kinda funny that I'm actually looking forward to the food, more than the game. Yep, my first super bowl sober in a few years also. Go Packers!

I'm still not sure anybody will show up for my meeting. This may sound a bit sexist, but it's a men's only group so no women will show up anyway. That leave's me with just the male demographic to brave a cold snowy night, and miss the super bowl.

Just think....the game is half over and we're still sober. World didn't come to an end or anything. Didn't miss a thing.

I can't imagine the parties going on in Wisconsin tonight! I am there once or twice a year...they take their team EXTREMELY serious!! So happy they won!!!!!!!!!!
