Well, THAT was an unexpected box to open.

As most of you know by now, Ah is obsessed with fish tanks. I'm used to opening boxes containing fish tank stuff.

I opened a box today that contained a Bible. He's only ever "religious" when he wants to hold it against me in some way(I'm more agnostic than anything). This should be interesting.

and no, he is not attending AA in any way that I have been able to ascertain.

Hm,

Maybe he intends to hollow it out to stash a pint bottle inside?

Eek, don't say that. remember what I said about what he's like on hard liquor? He gets the major crazies on it. Climbing out the window, stumbling down the block crazies.

ha!

This is a funny thread.

Remember, some people think knowledge is power. If he can quote the bible and hold phrases over your head in some guilty manner, he's more saintly versed, yes?

i would say he would hold the bible up in the air,
and make pronouncements.
just say
"show me that verse."

or look up the one about not being yoked to a drunkard.
it's in there, but i dont know where.

Naw, he's probably going to be searching for the "respect thy husband" ones. I should go get MY old confirmation bible and search out verses(like you said, the drunkard ones) Funny thing is, I have more religious education than he does, and I have enough church-going friends that they could help me out there.

But no..he doesn't need more "ammo" for his rants.

Oh oh, WAIT! He's going to look up verses to help with his DUI defense(that he's doing himself) next month!

Oh please, this is too good to be true.
Bible verses in court?
He should be looking in the law books, not the bible.
Hey! What about separation of church and state?
I should go watch it, it will be the Skopes monkey trial all over.
That personal exceptionalism (I can do it cause I want to) is gonna bite him in the butt.

Oh, he already thinks he has the "innocent" part down, because while he was drunk he remembers them telling him his field breathalyzer was under .08(so..making him "legal" to drive) and that his blood test was .124, even though the official paperwork says .14.

I am fully prepared, if he comes home from the court date ranting and raving at all the injustices in the world, to leave that day. Or if he starts it in the days/weeks afterward.

it is amazing, really incredible how things are twisted to be somebody's elses fault, or the bump in the road, the sign wasnt visible, my favorite from my ex was the whole of waterford police department had something against him.
yeah, you dont pay your child support dumbazz.

during his drunk driving adventure, he remembers he was under the limit.
incredible.
bac .124
but actually written down as .14.

well, i say he has got this one in the bag!
praise god and set him free to drive again.
how about not driving after drinking?
what a concept.
man, i know this process, my ex went thru it a few times, but was never guilty.
it was "the man" out to get him.

The being entitled to drive thing is just rich. XAH told the judge in our divorce that no he hasn't had a valid driver's license and has driven, but "I didn't do anything criminal or anything." "Actually, sir, if you had been caught, you would have gone to jail. You would have been hand-cuffed while leaning over the hood of the car, regardless of whether or not your DS was in the car. Do you really want your son to see that?"

XAH's face showed exactly what he was thinking of that. Like the whole law about having a current driver's license for the state you have been residing in is just a suggestion or just for every one else and the judge has it all wrong.

But, how will I get to work?
Well sir, if you work, you should pay the friggin 60 bucks (i think) for a four year license.

Why wait! You know that is exactly what he is going to come home doing. Do you expect him to come home and start down the path to sobriety after getting his butt whipped in court?

One of my A&AXBFs used to leave self-help and recovery books laying around, open, as if he'd been reading them before I pulled up to the house. I knew it was all a bunch of bull. Open books or possession of books means nothing.

I don't know zrx, I mean I'd like to think it would make him sober up, but I doubt it. I am working hard at making sure I have all of my support system and everything in place before then though. I have been trying to stay through the school year.

I did have another wrench thrown in the plan the other day though, my van got stuck in the driveway because of some snow work the neighbors had done(and threw the snow in our driveway) and AH ended up burning out the transmission. did he do it on purpose? I'd like to not think so, but that's a 1500-2000k fix. I could fix it, but it would put a very serious dent in my emergency funds, plus he'd wonder where I got the money. so instead I'm driving his work car, a piece of crap Escort.
