I just wanted to thank all of you...
I'm an alcoholic, I've had my last drink... The stories and heartache in this section have truly helped me.. I will make it this time around for myself, my family... And to all of you.. You are all huge inspiration.
Thank you so much.

Congratulations on your sobriety...and thanks for saying thanks. If people and families are helped from the experiences, heartache and strength on this board, that's a good thing. From my perspective, F&F has helped me so much! I'm grateful too...

I so admire your decision to quit and post it on SR. I wish my AW would read these posts and do the same. (sigh) You sound like you got "True grit"
Thanks for your post ImReadyToQuit. Congratulations for the last 24 hours sober!!
For me as a codie my "sobriety" is No Contact with an alkie. I got 2 years and 1 month already.
Life still sucks sometimes, but at least its reality and no longer a dark tunnel going nowhere, or a fantasy that only exists in my head!

... and as I said before IRTQ, its great to get some perspective from your position as we dont often get it from the alcoholics in our own lives! SO THANK YOU FOR THAT!!
I waited and wanted for so long to hear the words you are saying now, never did hear them from AH!
Admitting our vices and downfalls isnt easy and is very humbling. Thank you so much for sharing
Addiction isnt a life, its an existence. Now you have everything to LIVE for!!!

Just wanted to let ya know its been 2 weeks.. Feeling better than ever.
I've taken a lot of steps to change everything in my life (with the exception of the love of my life (wife) and my job). Everything else is different.. I'm working out daily.. running.. Hitting the meetings, talking to my sponsor...ect...
My diet is perfect as well, I think its very important.. I havent had any fat foods, fried or otherwise since I quit.. No sugar or caffeine either.. I just feel better than I have in 5 years (and I've went up to 2 months in the last 2 years sober and never felt so good)..
Thanks again!
