welcome Josh

You'll find a lot of people to talk to here I'm sure, and a lot of support too.

I wonder if there's anyone you can speak to in your family though? or at school - a teacher or counsellor? or your doctor?

It's best to get all the support we can possibly get.

D

Youngaddict, I have a 16 year old daughter who has been going through some trouble herself. Not as an alcoholic/addict, but in some other areas. I just wanted to extend my support as someone who is used to things teenagers face.
There's alot of great people here. Keep reading and posting!

Well hopefully you don't have to go down some of the long roads some of us old folks have had to, but with that being said, I am sure your road is just as painful as anyone of ours. When I was switching from pills to booze and back again someone said to me, it didn't matter what I was using if I was an addict it all was gonna get me sooner or later. Switching is just like switching seats on the titanic, the ship is still gonna sink. So welcome Josh and my hope for you is that you find someone out there that you can trust but till you do SR is here. Keep the Faith!!

youngaddict, I started using when I was 12. started just beer, but eventually led to pot and aharder alchohol. I experimented with other drugs but beer and Pot were always my favorites. I am 39 now. I have had some sobertime, when I was pregnant with my 2 kids I never drank. but started after they were born again.
I guess my point is, its great you are looking for support so young. If you stop now your life will be so much better, then if you continue to use. sure its fun when everyone else is doing it and goin to partys, but if you see now that you have aproblem, it wont get better if you keep using.
Dont wait untill your 39 like me and finally trying to get my life on the right track, dont waste half your life like i did.
you can do it

Theres lots of people around here so Im sure you can find some to talk with. Thats cool your realizing your problem now and trying to fix it. 8yrs ago when I was your age I was already drinking and using drugs on a daily basis getting wasted before class even started.

Welcome to SR! There are a lot of supportive people around the forums. There's practically always someone online, as there are people from all over the world.
