A book that has nothing to do with alcoholism
This may be a mis-post and if it is, I apologize in advance. I have been reading a page a day of a book called "365 Tao" by Deng Ming-Dao. 365 pages, meant to be read one page a day. Most are very short 1-2 paragraph writings. Most carry a very profound and deep message that I read every day and meditate and dwell on during the day and I find it brings me serenity. I find it gives me great inner strength and has such a calming effect. It can easily be found on Amazon. I have NO financial interest in this book whatsoever, I just thought I would mention it here as so many people here seem to gravitate in some fashion toward meditation in attempts to relax and quiet their minds and keep a clear view of the road before themselves.
Peace, Mike

Reply to my own message.... I should mention, I spent 7 years of my life living in S. Korea (learned the language and people very well) and parts of Asia, so I am partial to Asian thoughts and ideas, so maybe it just seems more helpfull to me.... Mike
If we are sharing inspiration, and thank you for the book reference, BC, here are two poems I carry with me. They always strengthen me.
Live
It is in loving,
not in being loved,
the heart is blessed;
It is in giving,
not in seeking gifts,
we find our quest;
Whatever be your longing,
or your need,
that give;
So shall your soul be fed,
and you, indeed,
shall live.
-- Author Unknown
INVICTUS
Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.
