Sleep Problems
I'm only (back) at Day 12, and things are going pretty well, except the fact that it takes so long to get to sleep at night.
Maybe I should force myself to get up earlier in the mornings, so that, in the evenings, I'm plenty tired enough to get to sleep.

I think this is the biggest stumbling block in early recovery. I remember once making it to 5 days (a miracle for me) and being so desperate for sleep that I drank...duh!
Unfortunately you just have to slog through this phase. I started sleeping better around the 2 week mark. I've never been a great sleeper, even as a kid, but I get enough now to feel pretty rested. And my horrific nightmares have completely disappeared

Hi Kelly
I think sleep problems are really common for us in early recovery unfortunately - have you tried the sort of common sense things here in this link?

I'm on day 10. It still takes a while to fall asleep and it doesn't last long. Usually I'm up before the sun and instead of lying there I just get up and do my 3 mile walk. At least the flip flopping around and leg kicking has stopped.
Kelly, I am with the others here in that I didn't get much sleep either. I just tried to be active during the day so I could sleep earlier but found watching a movie, reading a book, taking a bath to be helpful. Whenever I woke up and laid there.....I came on here for a bit....read and went back to bed.
It gets better

I feel for you Kelly, I'm having exact same trouble. Only day 6 here & had my 1st night sweat last night, but It's going to be a small price to pay in the long run eh
