Sleep Problems

I'm only (back) at Day 12, and things are going pretty well, except the fact that it takes so long to get to sleep at night.

Maybe I should force myself to get up earlier in the mornings, so that, in the evenings, I'm plenty tired enough to get to sleep.

Sleep problems are really common. Sounds like at least you're getting sleep. Hang in there...for most people it gets better fairly quickly. Congrats on day 12!

I think this is the biggest stumbling block in early recovery. I remember once making it to 5 days (a miracle for me) and being so desperate for sleep that I drank...duh!

Unfortunately you just have to slog through this phase. I started sleeping better around the 2 week mark. I've never been a great sleeper, even as a kid, but I get enough now to feel pretty rested. And my horrific nightmares have completely disappeared

I'm on day 10. It still takes a while to fall asleep and it doesn't last long. Usually I'm up before the sun and instead of lying there I just get up and do my 3 mile walk. At least the flip flopping around and leg kicking has stopped.

Kelly, I am with the others here in that I didn't get much sleep either. I just tried to be active during the day so I could sleep earlier but found watching a movie, reading a book, taking a bath to be helpful. Whenever I woke up and laid there.....I came on here for a bit....read and went back to bed.

It gets better

That sounds good. Do you do any vigorous exercise? A good workout at night (Even though I never feel like going) really helped my sleep at the start.
