al anon
had my first meeting of the new year last nite and was so good getting back to normal and was so good seeing all my new friends in there its amazing how quickly i feel so at home there now and i spoke again about something that happened on christmas day was good to just air it and one of them said to me u are looking so much better now than u were that first day u came in she couldnt get over how much straighter i am now as opposed to the tangled mess i was few months ago.
So as i said to them its working slowly but surely im beginning to feel more me again and less of the doormatt i became with the ex and even though i had felt i had back pedalled a bit at xmas im still moving in right direction

Hahaha.. the doormat you were... yes, I was a doormat too, I am so glad those times are over!! Its great you went again. I read somewhere that codependency is like alcoholism in that, when you are alone it is too huge to handle, but with others or in group it even becomes laughable. Good for you! I like group therapy because I also get that kind of feedback, and sometimes you feel you are in the same place as usual.. but NO... you are moving forward, never to go back to that sad place!!

I have seen you stick with this board and share...

Kia, al-anon has suited you beautifully and it shows, you are more clear and happier, maybe it is easier for us to see you shining because you have been working it out in yourself day to day.....but yes, gal, you have that glow!
