Please say a prayer
My uncle was just admitted to the hospital as the result of a serious fall -- alcohol related, of course. He is 84 years old and has been drinking for many years. He is in and out of consciousness. I don't know if he is going to pull through this time. We will see him tomorrow at the hospital. The last time the doctors said he would die if he drank again. He spent weeks in the hospital and in rehab. He made a miraculous recovery (the last time). Despite the stern warning, he drank again, worse than before. My fear is that he has already used up his nine-lives. It is amazing that he has survived this long given the extent of his alcoholism. It is in God's hands how this turns out. There is nothing any of us can do. I would appreciate prayers for my uncle, for the doctors and nurses who are caring for him and for my family. That this has happened at the holidays makes things that much more difficult for all of us. I do not know when I will check back on this site, but just knowing that you are all praying helps me to feel better. Susan
of course, add me to the prayer list.
my father died of cirrhosis, and he had been told by the VA docs that one more binge would kill him.
he went home after rehab and got himself some vodka.
had to call the ambulance, then he was in the hospital for a few weeks before the end.
he was 62 years old. 62!
I will be praying for your uncle, all his caregivers and your family.
