1st day.....this is so scary but I am ready to get my life back. Poured out the booze this morning. I have been reading alot of the threads and feeling hopeful.

Welcome to the family! I'd suggest as much reading about alcoholism as you can do. Arm yourself with information. I'm glad you decided to stop drinking. It's the best thing I ever did for myself.

Excellent! I poured out my box of wine the day I decided to quit. It was amazing to see it all go down the drain and realizing all of it would have gone through me if I hadn't quit! It sounds like you are sick and tired of being sick and tired so I'm confident you'll make it!

I'm only on day 2 and can't offer you much. Congratulations on pouring out the booze. I can't wait until I get my self-respect back and a normal sober life. I hope the same for you.

I keep playing the tape through, as they say, to what happened 12 days ago when I even think I can drink, ugly.

I poured the wine down the drain for months prior to quitting and always thought it smelled awful. The day I quit I bought a whole 1.5. Liter of wine to drink and after 2 hours of not being able to force myself to drink it I poured it down the sink....it was a wonderful feeling.
