Procrastinating Step 1
Voraciously working on STEP 1 homework assignment. The assignment given by my sponsor is writing down (not typing) EVERY single occurrence I can remember while being intoxicated. She expects it by tomorrow so today I am investing my work day to STEP 1 instead. I’ve been procrastinating it a little bit and now going through each event - It’s a b*ch. This is BRUTAL! There are probably so many occurrences. I will not be able to remember but the ones I can seem to remember are breaking my heart.
As for the AA meetings…. I’ve met a couple of very nice women and am grateful for that. Just feeling emotionally drained lately. Again, no urge to drink – just warn down.

Making a list of all alcohol related occurances might just cement in your mind that you are indeed powerless over alcohol. I've never made such a list on paper but have a mental list a mile long of all the stupid things I've done and said while drinking - ugh.
Great process to help us understand that we are powerless over alcohol and that our lives had become unmanageable. Remembering the consequences of our drinking is very important to help convince us that we don't want to put that poison in our bodies anymore.
Congrats and keep going!

Wow, that is a great assignment, but I think it would take me days to write it all down. So many mixed emotions I have now thinking about the good/happy drunks (early on) compared with the bad, anxious depressed drunks of last couple years . Good luck on your assignment!
