As I said in your other post, glad you're here.

SR is a great place. I've done AA and therapy, and this place ranks right up there with them for me. It can be a huge help so long as you follow the simple maxim "you get out what you put in."

Welcome TyDy! I spent a few years in the Alaskan bush. I imagine that being connected to the internet can be a big boost in your recovery efforts.

Nice, it sure is a big help cause as you know in the alaska bush you usually have the super fanatical religious folk and the drunks, not much middle ground but Im trying to stradle the fence.

Haha, yeah. I have some relatives out there that fit the "religious fanatic" mold perfectly. They are still close to the rest of my heathen family but definitely a weird bunch. Not only do they not drink alcohol but even soda is a sinful decadence to them.

It's certainly a land of extremes up there. The village I lived in only had one business establishment - a bar, with a few canned goods for sale. Probably not the ideal location for quitting drinking....

There is a little town 15 miles away that has a bar, a church, and a liquor store that over the years I have invested a small fortune in. Not the most ideal town to quit drinking in, but I am trying to fill my time up with chores aroound the homestead and playing on the internet. Times sure have changed from getting messages over the am radio!
