I have been thinking over the conversation we had the other day and what keeps POPPING up is the part you told me you are still drinking. Unfortunately, an alcoholic can't have just one. I told you 6 months ago you must be in a program, you have to be alcohol and drug free in order to play a role in (my sons name) life. I am still hopeful one-day you will be sober; not only for your sons, but for yourself. I am disappointed that part of your life still continues. I will keep praying you will someday stop. I guess you have not hit bottom. Please do not respond to this e-mail or call me if you are not in a program, AA, have a sponsor, etc.
I will continue to pray and stay hopeful....

Did you already send this or are you considering sending it? I would guess responses here will differ depending on if it's sent or not.

Hi, Yes, I sent it. I had not spoken to him in 6 months. I decided to reach out 1 last time to see where he was in his life and he admitted he went to a keg party and had 2 beers. I ended the conversation, digested it for a few days and the wrote and sent this e-mail.

yes, Dolly, I am, I think what happened was I allowed his parents to see my son they claimed he was alcohol free.. I didn't believe them , but I was still hopeful. I figured if I gave him 5 minutes on the phone i WOULD KNOW FOR SURE, NOW i DO. Opps, I don't mean to shout.
