so grateful at this very moment
I have calmed down. I probably sound bi-polar since my last post reporting my first AA meeting, but i am doing better right now. Why? Well, my mom and I had a long conversation about drinking. My mother has been one of the only non abusive persons I've known and for that I am grateful.
I cannot wait for my recovery journey.

Congratulations! You went to a meeting AND had a good cry AND a long talk with your Mom?!?!?!?! WOW - what a day!
This is the first day of the rest of your life ... and tomorrow will be, too. ONE DAY AT A TIME!

Well, Aimee - you could start buying stock in the Kleenex company ... LOL
There are many trains of thought on crying, but I like this one best: "crying is God's way of washing you out" (my son, age 6 at the time)

Freedom1990's signature says: tears are for the soul what soap is for the body. I agree. Crying is a good way to get feelings out. it's no good holding them inside until they explode. Let them out, whether it's crying or screaming or seeing a counselor.
