Thanksgiving

Hi guys, just want to wish you all a lovely thanksgiving, not sure when it is being Scottish, but I hope you all survive and take it as another day at a time. I know it can be stressfull having all the family together and wine, etc flowing, if it gets to much, step outside, phone someone (AA), get a post up.

Thinking of you all

Nawneet

Thanks, Nawneet. Since family is 500 miles away, it will be just me and my cats this year. I'll still celebrate giving thanks, that I am 82 days sober (will be 85 days on Thanksgiving day) For that, I thank God, my NA support group, and my extended family group here at SR.

The holidays used to make me so nervous. HAD to drink to get through them....happy drinking my butt.

Now, I actually look forward to them. How the heck does that happen?!

Yeah, this week is already super hectic for me and Thanksgiving is going to be about 20 or more crazy Poles in a small house (not a lot of drinking though, THANKFUL.)

Fortunately, I get to spend it with the two most sober people I know, my 2yr and 6mo old nephews.

It's called the realization that drinking only made you feel guilty around the very people you loved - now that that dark place is behind you you have nothing to hide, and therefore feel more confident.... to either laugh at your family or enjoy their company
