On my way

So I finally met with my doctor and am going to a detox unit. I am so scared:/

I started to have jittery shaking in the morning. It seemed to go away if I had some alcohol. I thought it was time to do something.

I'm glad you're going for detox. You'll be safe while going thru it, and more comfortable too. AFter detox, get some support going, whether it be AA or another program, or counseling, or whatever. Put all your effort into it and the results will be so rewarding.

Sark,
I did in hospital detox almost 60 days ago. Much easier than doing it by yourself, and much safer. As has been said, get a plan for after in place unless the detox has a rehab setup as well. I well understand your apprehension though, because committing to quitting, to really quit, is a huge step in the right direction. It didn't take me long to join AA and log on here at SR to round out my personal program. For me, doing detox in the hospital was a tremendous kick start to my new sober life. Thanks for sharing your plan to detox. I will be rooting for you!

I know it's scary, but you're doing the best possible thing for yourself. It really is much easier to let people help you. Let us know how it goes.
