OT: Damn I love action
OT: Damn I love action
...oh, no, wait, that sounds overtly sexual.
Perhaps I should say, "damn I love TAKING action". It's become my favourite remedy to anxiety.
I've been waiting and waiting for the Blessed Child Support Fairy to grace me with her benevolence, but alas, 6 months after the judgment has been pronounced, I still do not see any progress in my file. A few calls and a few pointed questions later, I find that the general attitude over at the CS office is "wait and see".
Um, no.
A quickie email exchange with my super awesome lawyer and a signed document later yields this: she'll be calling the CS office on my behalf and throwing her weight around to see if we can properly "motivate" the agent in charge of my file to get off his rear and start DOING SOMETHING (like say, calling XAH's employer to confirm his employment there, instead of *waiting* 4 weeks for them to get back to him....geez).
NOW let's see what happens....hehehe (says she rubbing her hands in a very Burn's like machiavellian way).

Yes, I have some talking to do with social security. hehehehehehe
My ex actually has an attorney and a court date, so that means he is in for some cash, and that means child support supercedes any other debts he has!
Bwa-ha-ha!
Good Luck NoDay.
But, we don't need no stinkin' luck! Just get the government in gear.
wicked...I feel the need to say the following:
MuHaHaHAHAHAHAHAHahahhahah!
Why?
Because a simple call from my lawyer yesterday *magically* got the wheels in motion. The agent in charge of my file suddenly realized that there was something off, gave it to his supervisor, who magically decided that the case was in a "state of emergency" and that they need to deduct child support from XAH's next paycheck. See, was that SO DIFFICULT??
In a few weeks, I should be receiving my first CS cheque, and it'll be my ultimate pleasure to open an education savings account for DD.
I'm still curious to see if XAH will
a) call/email to threaten me (in which case, I win)
b) leave his job or leave the province (I also win)
c) drink himself into a stupor and do something stupid (par for the course)
Either way...MUAHAHAHAHAHAH. HEhehe. Heh. ok. I'm done now.

heehee.
oh yes, magically it happens. yep.
now, i must speak softly, and carry a big stick (the proof of arrearages) to talk with the federal government.
lucky for me, I know how to talk to people.
tee hee.
but i will occasionally laugh evilly until january!
bwa-ha-ha-ha!
This thread made me laugh! MUAHAHAHAHAHAH.
STBXAH is currently in arrears for child support also. He keeps quitting/losing jobs. However, the State garnished a big check of his for child support, which was like getting an entire 2 weeks pay for me (talk about Blessed Child Support Fairy). Without having part of it obligated for rent, groceries, car insurance, etc. I was able to get DS and I new winter gear (which is very much needed as the temps drop below 25 degrees F and will keep dropping), DS a couple new pair of jeans, another small birthday gift for him, and will pay for afterschool care for the month. Shiny!! (I need a little skipping smilie.)
I've been waiting to see if any of those things happen here too (b appears to be becoming the usual for STBXAH...), but IMO there's one more option:
d) All of the above.

The Blessed Child Support Fairy!
I love that.
And so delighted you could take care of some stuff uncertainty.
I will imagine a little skipping smile and your child comfortably outfitted for winter.
Yay!
