You're in a supportive place.

Glad to hear you're tapering. I've know experience of my own with opiates but I've been with friends who were working themselves off. Whatever gets you to zero.

Have a plan in mind for how you'll be able to stay clean once you've worked yourself off?

I am wondering about how much longer untill it starts getting better instead of worse.

I have no plan fior after. I am doing the same job that caused my back fussion. The pain from that just keeps rising. I don't know why a person should be hurting when they make pills to take care of it. All Doctors are afraid to perscribe. Mine just quit me after four years.

Pain management is not something I know personally, but Least's link may be helpful.

I know that my local hospital also has a pain management program. I'd see if anything like that exists in your area. Your doctors might know and even contacting a hospital might be able to give you leads to something in your area.

As for how soon it gets better? It always depend on the person. Varies by substance used, how it was used, age, etc. Also depends on what you consider "better." Alcoholics and heroin users--those I know best--seem to give an average of two weeks before things finally start seeming normal, but again it depends.

Welcome Chancry
As you see you'll find a lot of support here.

I encourage you to find another Dr - unfortunately pain issues never go away on their own. You could probably use some advice with medication too.

I'm not an American so I don't know the system well, but Isaiah's suggestion sounds like a good one to me.

I went from 150 mg morphine and 40 hydrocodone to 30 mor and 10 hydro. How hard is it to get to zero from here? Is it the same or more difficult then the first cut?

Hi Chancey.

We cannot give you medical advice here. It is against our rules.

I encourage you again to seek professional medical supervision. It's in your best interests.

Yes, please do talk to your dr.

And, many cities in North America have Pain Management Clinics, so check that out in your area.
