Campral -- Anyone Ever Use It?

If this is breaking the rule about medical advice please let me know and I will remove this post.

I was just wondering if anyone had ever used Campral. I was thinking about talking to my doctor about it. Being I am just starting my recovery journey.

Any advice or experiance would be great.

Thanks!
Saliena

We can share our experiences here, but if it starts to get into recommendations, it's breaking the rule.

I've never used it or any other anti-craving drug Saliena.
Do see your Dr to discuss it fully if you think it might work for you.

I haven't, but I know I have read of others using it. Hopefully, you'll get more replies soon.

Yes I use it. For more info speak to your doctor and read the book "Healing the addicted brain" written by Dr Harold Urschel. Be warned though, you have to sift through a bit of marketing hype throughout the book. Read the amazon.com reader reviews of the book and make your own decision.

4 years ago before my relapse I used Campral. I know it helped me a ton. I would talk to your doctor about side effects though. They were not bad, but could be very uncomfortable at times for me.

Good Luck!

I thought it really helped me, in calming down that part of the brain that produces the cravings. My thoughts while taking it seemed clearer. I was always told though that I should use it in combination with a program and/or therapy. The cost can be high if you're not covered, and there can be side effects. I had some but not too severe.

People can have their own reasons for and against anti craving medication, it ultimately comes down to the individual in consultation with their doctor.
