Belated 6th month post
Hi all
I wasn't going to post anything to mark my 6th month of sobriety. (4th October) Not sure why - but changed my mind, once again - not sure why
It has been an interesting journey and for the most part, it has not been that difficult. I had a bit of a hurdle when I went to a wedding recently but I just excused myself after the speeches and went home, sober, happy and content.
On a personal level, my relationship with my partner is getting stronger. He is relieved that he does not have to pull the pin (he is a recovered alcoholic himself). This was definitely on the cards 6 months ago.
He is happy that I am not ripping his head off at any given and random moment. He doesn't have to walk on egg shells around me any more. My mood is much more balanced.
I look better, I feel better, I have more motivation and will to live. I enjoy going to work and having a good laugh with my students. I love being a better role model. I love being able to pay it forward. I am way more productive at work and don't have to write down pin codes anymore as I actually remember them.
I am rocking my recovery, with the help of my SR family and God.
