checking in

Haven't checked in for awhile, but I am here reading every day. Mom is doing well. Still taking care of her Dr appointments etc and considering moving in so I can save some money.
I slipped again, but got right back up and am now on day 8. Things are so overwhelming, but I keep trying.

Off topic, I am mesmerized by the rescuing of these miners. WOW, what a story and I am not sure why it resonates with me, but it was so awesome to be sober and watch the first one be rescued last night. Watching for the last one tonight. I myself am claustrophobic so I cannot imagine being in this capsule, but logically I would not be in the mine in the first place as claustrophobic as I am.

Just some great inspiring news amidst all the chaos.

As far as I go, loving the puppy, trying to take care of mom and myself. All is good, trying to make good decisions both with my living arrangements, finances and sobriety.

Welcome back Mel! When I saw the final amount of time the miners had been down there my first thought was that they all went without a drink the whole time! Lol....thank God they are up and well.

geez LeF, i thought the same thing! if any of them were in an alcoholic way, they didn't have much of an option did they? talk about white-knuckling it.

this miracle will become a movie in a year or two....i can see some stars wanting to play the role.

welcome back Mel, glad to hear you are on track and dealing in the best way....

my mother is ill and in a nursing home, she suffers from advancing dementia...it is very hard to watch.
