Day 5, for the first time
Day 5, for the first time
So I have reached Day 5 for the first time in a long time since I got addicted to cocaine. The longest I ever went without using in the thick of my addiction was 3 days so this is a real milestone for me. As each day goes by it has less and less of a hold on me. Cocaine invaded my dreams last night but instead of being alluring or appealing I saw it for what it really was, a destroyer of lives. So wish me luck. I can't wait to see my Day 5 turn into 6, then 10 then 30 then a year. Woohoo so enthusiastic!

Congratulations! To a never addicted person, they'd think 5 days... meh... But to many here (i.e. me for one), Great Job!! We understand the achievment! Be proud of yourself and the new life you are starting on!

Divine, great job on the 5 days! It gets better as you keep going. When I have dreams about alcohol, they are usually negative, and I use that as motivation to continue moving forward in sobriety. I am thankful for them as they remind me of the Hell I was living through in my addiction. Keep it up!
Congratulations on your 5 days! It really does get better - just keep hanging on to the positive and remember to focus on today. When I was 5 days sober, the world seemed very strange, but now sobriety seems normal. So yeah, it's worth it!
