hey all, day 11, going out to dinner to celebrate my dear friend's wedding anniversary. We usually drink, this will be the first time in a familiar place w/friends when I would drink. I'm committing right now to stay sober and have just have dinner. Thanks all for reading.

May I ask, are your friends aware of why you're not drinking? Just curious as I'm on the verge of telling my close friends about my imminent life-change..

Hey Hud, these particular friends do know. Some of my friends don't. I'm kind of trusting my instincts on who will be supportive and who will not because my decision will cramp their style (I have a few friends like that). Eventually I will let everyone know I don't drink anymore but for now I'm taking it "one friend at a time" good luck to you!

Have a nice dinner...I'm at 3 months and haven't really told anyone in real life....I do what you did...post at SR if I am going to be in a dangerous situation...it helps to know that everyone here knows:-)
