39 years

I'm new to this site but not new to the fellowship.
I have 39 years of abuse with drinking and like everyone else it's getting worse. It's starting to affect my thought process, and I'm tired of living this way.
I have been unable to find my higher power any suggestions. I can never make it past step two.

Hi, and welcome!

My suggestion is that you get a good sponsor to help you with the Step work. It can make all the difference to find someone who will help you work them rather than floundering around on your own.

You CAN be done with this, if you are ready.

Agree with Lexicat, I'm only over a week sober and have found a spiritual awakening. Nothing in life compares to it.

Hi and Welcome,

I knew that I had to reconnect spiritually in order to begin to recover.

I found many books that helped a lot - Louise Hay is amazing, Deepak Chopra, Eckhart Tolle and Gary Zukav.

I'm glad you found us!
