Hello I am new to this site and sobriety after 4 months in inpatient treatment. I have lots of education but only one week of life experience. I am living in a half way house, start working in about a week and go to meetings daily. Reading the book book slowly and also looking for a sponser, which is is not that ez. Any suggestions?? Thanks to all looking forward to this site

Keep doing what you are doing, one day at a time! As for finding a sponsor, if you are serious about the program, don't delay. You can start with a temporary sponsor, or you can ask someone who you think knows the program, is living in a way you think you would like, and has their stuff together.
When i started, i just asked someone right away. She got me started. After a while, I decided I needed something different, and asked the person I wanted to sponsor me. It has been very helpful.
Good luck and keep coming back here and going to your meetings. you can do it if you want it.

Keep putting your best foot forward and don't get too complacent. Even though that you have been through rehab and are living in a half-way, keep your sobriety up front. The transition from in-patient to a half-way house can be a bit nerve-racking, or at least it was for me. After a week, I settled in nicely and loved my new found freedom.
I was in rehab for about 6 months, then a half-way house for another 9 months. I still saw people go back out who were eventually graduated to the half-way house. Keep on working your recovery. Stick with the winners and look for a sponsor who is wise and serene.
And welcome to SR.

things i did out of the gate to start my recovery:
90 meetings in 90 days
got a sponsor without delay, called him daily, starting working the steps
got a home group, started doing service in that home group
read NA literature every day, as well as other spiritual books
pray and meditate every day
good nutrition
regular exercise
get outdoors as much as possible
laugh as much as possible EVERY day
I still do these things at 9 months clean and have no intention of stopping, though i don't hit a meeting every day, i still go to 5-6 a week.
i'm a firm believer that there's no such thing as stuck. i'm either moving forward in my recovery or backwards toward that next drink or drug. with that in mind i keep it moving forward. do something for your recovery every day. make it the center of your life and you'll be fine.

Welcome Gr8!
...and I 2nd what AugustWest said. I pretty much did the same thing and I'm almost 9 months sober too.
I've heard you can move mountains in AA/NA, but you've got to bring you shovel. The responsability to do the work is yours.
I look forward to reading your posts and SR has been extremly helpful in my sobriety.
