I can't believe how much my life has improved without alcohol. I've gone from a smartass, cynical drunk to an optimistic, joyous person who now takes the time to enjoy life and all it has to offer. It's hard to put into words the freedom and joy I now feel in my heart and soul.

I struggled for years and years with the monkey of alcohol on my back. I tried to fight it for a long time, I had more "Day 1s" than I could count. Then, about 10 years ago I gave up the fight and just said "the hell with it" and started drinking every day. It all finally caught up with me and now I'm thankful that it did, because I literally thought I was losing my mind. I thought for sure that I was going to die a horrible alcohol-induced death. That was 15 months ago, yet it sometimes seems like just yesterday.

For all of you still struggling...NEVER give up! As long as you're still breathing, you can turn your life around. I've said it before and I'll say it again, if I can do this ANYBODY can.
