I made it
My first friday that I can remember without alcohol. I was struggling badly yesterday, so I went home got my son and went to the local high school football game. I drank caffeine free diet pepsi and we had a blast. Thus begins day seven of a new life. I feel this site is going to play a big role in me turning things around. Thanks to all yall
Well done.....heres to more sober weekends out in the fresh air with family For me, in early sobriety, planning sober weekend activities was paramount otherwise id sit around moping about all the 'fun' I thought I was missing out on.

Hi JH, and that's great. I will look forward to saying I have been sober for 24 hours. I wonder where my one day coin ever went? maybe I'll get another one. I am kind of antisocial and hate driving extra places; have used these things not to go to meetings. I am here b/c I did a google on some withdrawal symptoms and wound up here. Hopefully later I will feel good enough to go to a meeting. anyways; I didn't feel like starting my own thread so thanks in advance JH for letting me share yours..... I also feel this site could really help me.

JH, that's great! I'm soon going to have a first birthday without alcohol in probably 20 years or so. I've asked myself before what I would do once I ran out of these firsts, ha ha. But I'm not that worried about one of those things to look forward to, because it's true that the positive living inside the current day is what makes it work. It will probably be a big deal once it is a year for me, but lately I am at the point where I forget about the monthly markers, and I did yesterday (10 months).
It's a good idea to exchange notes with people on the site, I agree. It's not hard to find someone who reminds you of yourself. And even when you don't, it's still a good experience.
Congratulations on 7 days and a new beginning.
