Going to Bed on Day 5...

So tonight... I really really wanted a drink... but, you know what. I took my Honda Furry motorcycle out... and I rode her like I was chasing the devil out of me... and I did not drink! I am going to bed at the end of day 5... and I get to make it to day 6.

I am grateful!

Congratulations on day 5! I am at the end of day 6! I also thought of drinking today - I have the day off, my husband is out of town all day, the weather was great, and there I was - thinking of drinking. But, like you I did something physical - I took my dog for a 2 mile walk along the river. I came home, took a shower, made something to eat, actually ate it, and now I'm reading posts on SR and I'm planning to go to bed - thus making it through day 6 without a drink! Yay for sobriety and being able to share our first days of sobriety on this web site.

Congrats to both of ya !

Great work !!!!

That first week was the toughest, ....along with several days in the second, but it DOES get better.

Hang tough,

Stay Strong

Way to go on 5 days! (and to you, Junior, on 6!) Like Topspin said, it's going to keep getting better, so cherish each sober day as a success and a personal victory.

The positives, no matter how small or unnoticable to others, always outweigh the negatives. Good job on getting that bike out and doing something.

Great! I do that very thing sometimes if I feel wrestless and "the thoughts" start...drop everything and get out of the house, do something that gives me a rush, and come home feeling like the one in control...not the one being controlled. Keep it up.
