Serenity
Sitting here in the predawn morning. Cup of coffee with a really nice sweet creamer in it. Enjoying the morning.
I never did that before.
Read a good book that gave me some awesome sobriety tips. I'm finding 'Serenity' is a word that I apply to myself quite often. It's not work and it's not hard.
I never did that before.
I think about my actions. How they may affect people. I try out things like opening my mind to prayer or opening my mind to a higher power.
I never did that before.
The more time that passes from my last drink....the better I feel. Truly. Newbies, we've all been there. It is rough at first, no doubt about it.
Here is a wish that everyone here has an awesome sober day. Stop and think about how positively your sobriety is affecting every single person around you.
Okay, I gotta get to work....before they fire me.
I never did that before.

Thanks Coffeenut for the post
A big part of my addiction treatment is cultivating a peaceful existence with the world at large around me and within myself. I too never did this before. Recovery has opened me up to new possibility's of mindfulness, whereas active addiction kept me trapped in an ever constricting world of unawareness .
