If you could spare a few good thoughts...
I went in for my glucose tolerance testing at the hospital this morning, and got extremely ill about an hour after I drank the sweet stuff they give to you. I ended up on the bathroom floor in the lab, and they immediately took me to ER where I was treated and kept for observation for several hours. I could not stop vomiting/running to the bathroom. Thank God Amber was there for me. I'm pretty medicated right now, but got up to let the dogs out as Amber left to check on her horses.
I called my sponsor and cried because tonight is birthday night at my home group, with my sponsor getting a 29 year medallion, I was supposed to get my 20 year, and another old sponsor will get her 30 year. We have several monthlies to celebrate too. There is no way I can make it up that long flight of steps and sit for an hour without nodding off.
I pray I am feeling better tomorrow. At least I have kept down some soda crackers at home.

(((DeVon))) - First of all CONGRATULATIONS!!!! on 20 years!!! I'm sure your home group will do something special for you, and that your sponsor and old sponsor will understand, but I know this was something you didn't want to miss.
The reaction you had to the glucose worries me, but I'm glad Amber was there for you and I trust that you are in good hands. Snuggle up with the pups, and get some rest, and please keep us posted on how you're doing, okay?
Love, hugs and prayers,
Amy

Dear Von, what rotten luck for you. Of course you are in my heart right now, and will stay there til you are well again. Good for Amber, being a help and comfort.
My warmest congrats on 20 years, and my thanks for you being the lodestar you are to all here on SR.
God bless
They did labs for my thyroid, cholesterol panel, checking my hormone levels, a whole bunch of stuff. As soon as my doctor gets all the results, I go in to talk to him.
Amber just left to get some Zofran filled-it's usually used for chemo patients with nausea. Yesterdays meds finally wore off and I'm feeling green around the gills. My ribs hurt from all the retching yesterday, so I stayed in bed till almost noon trying to rest.
Also had to deal with the college bookstore not having enough books for my Death & Dying class (which started over a week ago), so had to order a used copy from Amazon today. The instructor was very nice about giving me ample time to get caught up due to the book issue.
