I need help
Hi Nerraw. I hope you stick around and tell us more about yourself. It really does help to talk to other substance abusers. The kind folks on this board have all kinds of information they can't wait to share with you.
If you're wanting to quit, you can do it. Where there's a will, there's a way.

nerraw!
I'm always glad to see new people here and give them supportive advice just as I received when I joined last month.
I was an absolute mess last month and made a 360 degree turn since opening up with the folks here at SR.
Whatever your problem is, there are many of us that can relate and will openly provide support to help you get through your challenge right now.
Please share with us so that we may help you.

Day 1 again for me too. This website is a great resource. Benders and more alcohol aren't the answer for me, no matter how much a part of me tries to convince me of that. Like you, I don't want to lose another 4 years. I think accepting that you cannot drink socially is a big thing. I can't either. Welcome aboard, hopefully this is both of our last Day 1s.

Nerraw, write down everything you're feeling right now and read it often. The first few days will be awful so journal those too. Drink lots of water starting right now and commit to staying sober the next 24hrs on the 24hr thread on SR. Commit every day for 24hrs and reach out for support here or in person whenever you are tempted. If you have some serious symptoms then get help from your doctor. Whatever you do, just know drinking will NEVER make it better. I'm just on day 12 but I hope this helps!
I'm really glad you came back nerraw. I felt the same way when I joined SR - I was disgusted with my drinking habits and exhausted from trying to control the amounts I drank. It wasn't worth it - it's great to be free.
I hope you'll keep posting. We want to help you heal.
