Gonna be one BUSY week ahead

MY dear mother arrived safely after travelling for a few hours to get here, a trip of 3000 kilometres....not bad for almost 99 years old.

She requested....DEMANDED....Kenttucky fried chicken for dinner, as she never gets it a home, because AS says it is BAD for you. And 3 bottles of wine are good??? Well, I figure at mum's age grab whatever you want, like or need and do it with both hands......a bit late now to be worrying if whatever is gonna put a few lbs on.

We have my GD's wedding during the week, each day is arranged for us, and by next weekend I should be ready to shut up the house and hibernate for a week or two.

We are off to my church for Mass soon, where my priest will give a blessing to my Uniting Church mum, and then we head to eldest daughter's for lunch and family get together.

If I am missing from SR for the week or so, it is because I am busy or totally whacked out, but either way I will have a quick read of posts and send prayer
where needed.

This is probably the last trip up here for mum, and I want it to be a good one.
Your prayers would be a blessing to us.

God bless

Don't count your chickens on that mum of yours. Sounds like she can a circle around me. I can read her spunk loud and clear from your post, and I love it!

Grab that bucket of chicken and enjoy every minute you have this week with her. I love weddings because I get to be all weepy but in a happy way and then there's cake!

Can't wait to till you can put your swollen dancing feet up and tell us all about it

Blessings,
Alice

I brought my father KFC until his dying day....he wanted it, and enjoyed it...so I bought it to him. He would smile so wide each time he saw me come through the door with a bucket for him...like a little kid.
Enjoy your time with Mom

Jadmack, I enjoy your posts so much! I have a KFC story that you can tell your Mum. I live in a river town and back in the late 60's - early 70's a big yacht came through and stopped at the local marina. It belonged to Colonel Sanders and he got out while it was refueling. I was just a child but remember the owner telling my dad that he paid with a $100 bill. LOL!

I have a KFC story for you too. In the late 60's my mother was a grocery clerk at a Safeway store in Montana. Guess who came through her line, purchasing chicken? Colonel Sanders himself. He was visiting in the area and doing some cooking for friends.

I don't get this whole "that's bad for you" stuff once we get to a certain age.

I mean, I don't plan (nor do I want) to live forever you know? Geez....eat that fried chicken up!

Have a great time celebrating both life and love, Jadmack. And special chicken-fried hugs to your Mom. She sounds a lot like, well, YOU!
