I was here a while back and went into treatment, so now I am trying to pick up were I left off, not had a chance to create a profile yet but I love to upload cartoons and art some of it pokes fun at AA but not in any way meant to be offensive.

How long should one stay with the newcomers before moving into the nuts and bolts of things ? Is there a social forum on this site as well for just general conversation?

You can stay in Newcomers as long as you like
I'm still here after nearly 4 years.

You can also move out as soon as you like too LOL

We have a few social forums and areas.

Cafe Central has lots of non recovery related stuff, or at least not specifically related to recovery stuff.

You'll also find all manner of chat in the chat room (click on chat - right hand side of the blue toolbar on top of every page) and a whole mess of social groups in the social groups forum.
