Talking Day 43

I am so proud of myself I have been trying to do this since May and finally did it. Quit drinking and smoking cigarettes cold turkey...Looking back, it was ALL in the mind. I replaced my drinking with exercising, gardening and keeping up with things around the house. I am so pleased with myself

In the process of detoxifying my body by eating a ton of fruits and veggies, lean meats, reflexology, deep tissue body massages, foot toxin removals, colonics and probiotics....I am hoping to undo some of the damage from drinking and smoking the last 20 years.........

Awesome! Keeping the balance is really important. As you read time and time again on SR, along with this balance you've created for yourself, I also had to focus on not getting over-confident. Alcohol is cunning, baffling, and powerful ... and just when we think we've got it conquered, it shows us who is boss. For me, actively working a program of recovery gets me through these times. Keep going ... Well done!

NewME, it is VERY POWERFUL!!!! Everyday is a journey and a struggle trying to stay sober. I think about drinking a beer several times a day. Been using an oil by Flower Essence that helps the cravings...It is called Agrimony....but still a struggle everyday.

Stanley, my body is starting to feel great!

Thanks everyone else

Congratulations!! That is NO small feat! Quitting drinking and smoking - a very powerful one-two. I had to quit smoking a few years back and made the leap this year with the drinking. I have to say, I am very pleased with the results. Sounds like you are too!!

Huge, MAJOR congratulations on your amazing victory! You star.
