Trixie, I don't know what's more awesome...That you made it 30 days or that your coworker is a cool enough person to make that cake for you!

OK, it's more awesome that you're a month sober. But your coworker + that cake = totally rad. I hope you have an awesome day. That's certainly a great way to start it!

Trixie, I hope your school situation works out for you. I'm 29 and went back to school in January. My last drink was on March 25, and the last 5+ weeks of the semester, I was able to pull my grades up to a 3.5 and made the Dean's List. I'd never done that before, in any of my many (quickly aborted) attempts at college.

I just got off the phone with my school. I applied for financial aid for the upcoming school year, and I believe I'm receiving a $2100 grant. I couldn't receive my grant as I had not filed my taxes yet. Guess that's one of the things I didn't do when I was wasted and then forgot to do as I was cleaning up all my other wreckage. Anyway, I went ahead and filed my tax returns this morning, and I'm receiving over $400 back from the government! School said since the semester starts next week, I'll have to pay up front, but then I'll be reimbursed with my grant. So all in all, school's free this semester, and I finally filed my tax returns and am getting back some of my hard-earned money!

your co-worker is juust multi-tasking...satisfying cake cravings and your sobriety.

as soon as my stomach stops pitching and rolling (i'm home sick) i want a piece of cake too....i'm so hungry but i've only managed soup and a tylenol.

there should be more sobriety cupcakes!....we should have a different*official* one for each week of sober anniversaries....i like coconut for the first week, red velvet for 30 days, chocolate for 6 weeks....etc.

congrats trixie, you are very positive!

d30_thumb.gif Congrats on 30 days, a stepping stone to a new way of living life alcohol free.

Of course cake is good for breakfast........or lunch or dinner or dessert or all day, for me anyway.

God bless and keep coming.

Congrats . We are pretty much on the same timeline........I too am over 30 days.....There is now ay to describe how good I feel inside. Even though financially and right now medically ( torn crtillage in knee) I am not ther fittest. I just think about how it would be if I was drinkin. It took me the 30 days just to get all my mental and physical attributes back.....I drank a 30 pack of beer every day for 30 days..........ended up in detox with no insurance........................Well anyway,,,,,,,,,,,,,,It took quite a while for my mind to clear and once it did i sleep like a baby........But I do not wet the bed.........Thank God for small favors...............Just knowin I will wake up sober and with a chance to make my life into something instead of going the spiral of doom that alchol brings...............Enjoy every day as if it is your last...........
