Please check your insurance policies
I recently lost my husband. (Well I didn't actually lose him now, did I? He died)
This was not an issue in my case, but on the forums for the newly widowed, it seems to come up quite frequently.
If your loved one dies while doing something illegal, (driving drunk is the obvious example) your life insurance company or mortgage insurance may try to deny payment. It may even win this issue. This is the fine print in many policies. Just passing this tidbit along so everyone can make informed choices knowing what's likely to happen.
