Some of you may have gotten emails from my hijacked accout.

Someone hacked into my email and sent Viagra and other type things to bunches of addresses in my contacts list.

If you received one of these I am very sorry.

I have changed my password and tightened security.

I have no idea who might have done this.
Maybe my future MIL whom I do not speak with or an x-"friend" or XH???????????

It can happen via malware, spambots etc as well as real life hackers.
Make sure your anti virus is up to date and includes an email scanner

This happens all the time. Just change your passwords, and don't ever use an "easy" password such as the name of a loved one. Always make it a difficult password. And do not store your passwords in IE or Firefox.

Yup, I'll second the tech info. I've gotten all kinds of weird emails in the past that appeared to come from people I know, and vice-versa.

Good computer security (firewalls, anti-virus, etc.) aren't luxuries, they are NECESSITIES. I'm 99.9 percent sure your problem has to do with something automated, not someone you know.
