Your Screen Name
Maybe this has been done before but I was wondering if anyone would like to share if there is a story, meaning, etc. behind their screen name. Some I see on SR seem fairly straight forward while others have me completely baffled. Just thought it might be cool to hear from our members.
Chops = That I always use to tell those who gave me grief over my drinking to "stop busting my chops"...... figured it was an appropriate name.

La Femme, from "Cherchez La Femme"...literal translation "Look for the woman", often used in literature to mean when a man is behaving badly a women is the cause...I choose the name because I wanted to look for the woman I am that I have been hiding from in a bottle.
Thanks for posting the thread...I have been wondering the same things!

August West is the protagonist in the Grateful Dead song Wharf Rat. He's a down and out alcoholic bum who tells his story in the song. A song of of hope and redemption...
The Wharf Rats is also a sober deadhead group that had meetings at set break of shows and provided a safe place for sober fans to gather in that slippery environment. The wharf rats planted the seed for the phellowship, another sober group for phish fans which serve the same purpose at shows. i'm a phellowship member as well.
Wharf Rat
Old man down, way down down, down by the docks of the city.
Blind and dirty, asked me for a dime, a dime for a cup of coffee.
I got no dime but I got some time to hear his story.
My name is August West, and I love my Pearly Baker best more than my wine.
More than my wine - more than my maker, though he's no friend of mine.
Everyone said, I'd come to no good, I knew I would Pearly, believe them.
Half of my life, I spent doin' time for some other ******'s crime,
The other half found me stumbling around drunk on Burgundy wine.
But I'll get back on my feet someday,
The good Lord willin', if He says I may.
I know that the life I'm livin's no good,
I'll get a new start, live the life I should.
I'll get up and fly away, I'll get up and fly away, fly away.
Pearly's been true, true to me, true to my dyin' day he said,
I said to him, I said to him, "I'm sure she's been."
I said to him, "I'm sure she's been true to you."
I got up and wandered, wandered downtown, nowhere to go but just to hang around.
I've got a girl, named Bonnie Lee, I know that girl's been true to me.
I know she's been, I'm sure she's been true to me.

Tellus is part of the name of the store I worked at when I started the account. I believe it's Latin, similar to "terra" -- meaning "land" or "country."
In retrospect, a stupid screenname, because everyone thinks it's "Tell Us."

When I was 15, I got a job working in a pharmacy. We were all like one big family, and I was the "baby" just like in the comic strip "Family Circus". So, they started calling me Trixie. One day I just came up with Trixieisme, and it's been my screen name for lots of things ever since.
Mine is from the Bible verse "That which you do unto the least of these, my brethren, you do unto me." It's a reminder to treat others as well as I'd like to be treated, and also a reminder that I too am one of "the least of these".
I saw a really cool flaming yellow race car with the license plate BumbleB.
Took the name - changed bumble to humble for recovery reasons and viola!
(besides, I knew I'd find some cool graphics to go with the name for avatars, which I have and switch to from time to time).

I never get tired of reading these type of threads....everyone is so innovative...not me...
I am my Avatar (thanks to Ann)....Fandy is a big bossy boy, 1/2 siamese, 1/2 Farm Tom cat who fetches....originally named Fandango, but he prefers Fandy.

Dammit, I'm so lame! Mine requires zero thought, I'm not mysterious in any way! I can explain my avatar though, I have a white 2010 Dodge Challenger RT that is my pride and joy, and when I joined this great forum I was having trouble gaining traction on the sobriety road (3 weeks yesterday ;-), so I found a pic of a Challenger spinning it's wheels. I guess that's kinda exciting?!
Texas...I love your Avatar...growing up my Dad had a Charger (same as the Dukes of Hazard but his was white) muscle cars are cool...although I am a Jeep girl:-)
Fandy...your cat fetches...LOL, my dogs don't even fetch!
I vaguely remember Thundercats, but not Snarf.
I'll need to look into Oscar Wilde, don't know much about him.

My screen name comes from the Burt Reynolds movie the Longest Yard, (the original is one of my favorite movies), where an ex football player (Paul Crew) gets drunk and ends up going to prison. In prison everyone called him "superstar", because of his past playing days. I just put them together, hence supercrew.
