Going to go see my 22 year old perform tonight...

Pretty Prairie has the state's largest rodeo every year for 5 days, and it's been a dream of Amber's to become a member of the Pretty Prairie drill team, the group of women riders who bring in the flags at the beginning of the rodeo on their horses, and then they perform a routine at intermission.

Unfortunately Amber got bumped off of the intermission routine as one of the other gals quit, and that left an odd number of riders, so she has to sit it out this year since she's the newest member.

I've got her camera with me, and all charged up. I'm not sure when I'll get pictures downloaded as she couldn't find the cord that plugs into the pc, but at least I will get the pictures.

We're in an extreme heat advisory again through tomorrow, so I'm taking a hand towel and will soak that with cold water once I get there and put it around my neck. I'm on meds that really make me sensitive to the heat.

I'm picking up her ABF's mother to ride with me as she has post-concussion syndrome and can't drive. She's a pleasant enough gal, so it will be nice to have someone to drive over with and sit with.

awww, ((DeVon)), it sounds fantastic!! I'm sure you and Amber are both excited!

Too bad you don't live near me...I think I've got 3 of those computer cords?!?!

Have a great time and make sure to stay cool.

Love, hugs and prayers!

Amy

It's all good. She just called to let me know she and Sonny will be standing on the east side of the arena during the national anthem so I can be over there with the camera. She did find the cord.

I'm so proud of her. Sonny was the ugliest, gawkiest 4 year old gelding I had ever seen when she bought him.

He's a beautiful, mature, well trained horse now, and I had no doubt she would eventually make the drill team.

The gals are all decked out in matching chaps/outfits for the rodeo. I'm definitely excited!
