6 Months Sober Today!
Hi SR Family!
I just wanted to let everyone know that today is 6 months of sobriety for me. I can't even begin to tell you what an amazing ride it's been so far (in a good way)!
Anyways, I went back and checked out my first posts when I just got sober and wanted to thank ALL of you for your love and support. I was given so much encouragement from Day 1 and I can't thank you enough. You all are a huge blessing in my life and I thank God for the SR family.
To anyone that is just starting out, please keep posting and reading on this forum. The road isn't always easy, but I can promise you that you'll never wake up sober and wish you had drank the night before. The sober life is so worth living and I wouldn't take back one day of my past 6 months. As I was told early on, don't quit before the miracle happens....and the miracle WILL happen!
Take care, all, and thanks once again from a very grateful recovering alcoholic - one day at a time.

Racer CONGRATS!!! I am so proud of you. I know we started together but I relapsed in April but got back up and am now nearing 100 days.
I am so glad you still post and share the journey my friend. SR is amazing and the key is to not give in or give up.

Make sure you keep doing whatever it is you've been doing to get this far. Sometimes, there's a tendency to let up on the gas a little....to coast now that we've built up a good head of steam.
Sobriety is like a slow-rising hot air balloon that we continually need to keep reheating or we sink back to where we started.

Needed that today. I usually feel it, but sometimes it slips.

I've wondered how you were doing, hadn't seen you around in a while. Glad you're doing well.
